Mrs. Rena Tupman, 98, passes away Mrs. Rena Evelyn Garnett Tupman, 98, passed away at Summit Manor on March 7, 2005. She was born in Adair County on January 14, 1907, the daughter of the late William Anthony and Mary Lee Holladay, both descendants of prominent pioneer families of Adair County. The body will be cremated and privately interred in the Garnett Family Plot in Columbia Cemetery. A memorial service for Mrs. Tupman will be conducted on Sunday, March 13, at 2:00 p.m., at Grissom Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY. There will be no visitation. Mrs. Tupman was a graduate of Lindsey Wilson Academy and Berea College. An accomplished pianist and violinist, she also studied at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. She had a brief teaching career at Harlan High School, Harlan, KY, and at Spencerian Business College, Louisville, KY. Mrs. Tupman was a member of the Columbia Baptist Church, where for many years she taught a Ladies Bible Class. She was active in many civic and church organizations and a member of the Glens Fork Homemakers Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Tupman; her sisters, Allie Garnett Cundiff, Thomasine Garnett, Opal Garnett Rogers, and Ethel Garnett, and by her brother, Henry Garnett. She is survived by the following:
