Myrtle Marie Alexander, 71, Green County native

Myrtle Marie Alexander of Foley, Alabama, formerly of Green County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Walter Barnes and Josephine Gilley Barnes, was born on Friday, January 7, 1949 and departed this life on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 in Alabama. She was 71 years, 5 months, and 8 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ, was of the Baptist faith, and a homemaker.

Survivors include a daughter: Melissa Collins of Alabama; two sons: Purnell Green of Bowling Green, and Marvin L. Green, Sr. of Metcalfe County; three sisters and a brother: Dorothy Whitehead, Mary Green, Joyce Enoch, and Richard Barnes; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services for Myrtle Marie Alexander will be conducted at 12noonCT Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the Greensburg Cemetery. Bro. Wilburn Bonta officiating. Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the family burial fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
