Library in Edmonton begins changes for construction From Gaye Shaw, Executive Director Edmonton Metcalfe Chamber of Commerce After careful planning, the Metcalfe County Public Library Board of Trustees and staff are excited to announce that an updated facility is becoming a reality for Metcalfe County. The project involves a new addition and renovation to the current facility, which will expand library services for all of Metcalfe County. The new addition will incorporate a new rear entrance, a 1,196 square foot community space equipped with a kitchen, a quiet study/reading room, a family restroom, and expanded storage. The current library facility will be renovated to include a multi-purpose meeting space for programs and activities, a relaxed seating area, a small conference room, and an expanded children's area. Currently, construction is projected to start in July, 2021 and be completed by June 2022, however, this date and timeline is subject to change. During construction, the library will temporarily be operating out of the former Metcalfe County Elementary School library (across from the blue gym) at 206 Education Way Suite 2. Edmonton, KY starting Monday, June 14th. All library services will continue to be available throughout the move. Everyone is invited to stop by the library and take a look at the future floor plan and pick up an informational Q&A handout. This story was posted on 2021-06-15 09:00:14
