Michelle Stearns, 55, Russell County, KY (1955-2021) Michelle Johnson Stearns of Russell Springs, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2021, at the Russell County Hospital. She was 55 years of age. Born on January 29, 1966, in Somerset, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Don V. and Laura Elouise Brown Johnson. Michelle was a cook for the Russell County Board of Education and a member of Coffey's Chapel Church. She loved her family, and she was loved by everyone that met her. Survivors include her two sons, Lance (and Tammy) McGowan and Blake McGowan, both of Russell Springs; her daughter, Kayla (and Jesse) Green of Columbia; five grandchildren, Madelyn McGowan, Brylee McGowan, Chase McGowan, Grelyon Green, and Grifton Green; and another on the way. Michelle is also survived by a sister, Karen Hislope of Jamestown; a brother, Barren (and Lisa) Johnson of Russell Springs; and a brother-in-law, Terry Lawless of Jamestown. In addition to her parents, Michelle is preceded in death by a daughter, Deneane McGowan; a sister, Donita Lawless; and two brothers-in-law, Stan Hislope and Garvin Bennett. A memorial service will be held at 5pm on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at Bernard Funeral Home with Brother Roger Garner and Sister Laura Harris officiating.
