Iva Dean Emerson, 79, Liberty, KY (1942-2021) Iva Dean Emerson of Liberty passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021, at Casey County Hospital. She was 79 years old. The funeral service for Mrs. Iva Dean Emerson will be held at 1pmET on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville St, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Morris Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11amET to 1pmET on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. Born on February 6, 1942, in Lincoln County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Amy Estes Sims. Iva Dean attended Liberty Church of God. She was a member of Pond Ridge Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing and making clothes and riding in their Corvette in the Apple Festival. She is survived by her husband, Jerald Lee Emerson, who she wed on June 10, 1960; a son, Mike (Teresa) Emerson of Jamestown; a granddaughter, April (Jonathan) Grider of Russell Springs; and a great-granddaughter on the way, Emerson Grace Grider. Other survivors include two sisters, Roberta Addington of Waynesburg and Ester Peavy of Franklin, Indiana; and two brothers, Jeff (Judy) Sims of Waynesburg and David "Pete" (Mary Jo) Sims of Columbus, Indiana. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Judy Hart; and a brother, Donald Estes. Arrangements are entrusted to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
