Lois Richerson Hayes, 83, Campbellsville, KY (1938-2021)

Lois Virginia Richerson Hayes of Campbellsville passed away on Tuesday, May 25th, 2021, at Taylor Regional Hospital. She was 83 years old.

The funeral will be held at 1pmET on Friday, June 4, 2021, at Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Campbellsville. Rev. Earl West will be officiating the funeral service. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.

A walk-through visitation will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021, from 11amET until 1pmET at Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Campbellsville.

Social distancing guidelines and mask are required for those are not yet fully vaccinated.


Lois Virginia Richerson Hayes, daughter of the late Tommy Henry and Lena K. (Jarboe) Richerson was born on March 25th, 1938, at home on Kindess Road in Campbellsville, Kentucky.

She professed her faith in Christ and was a member of Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom. Lois loved her flowers, baking, quilting, and shopping at Goodwill.

Lois united in marriage to Sam Willie Hayes, Jr., on May 28th, 1955, and precedes her in death on June 26th, 2016.

She is survived by:
  • Two sons: Ronnie Hayes and wife Tina Costello; Robbie and Carol Hayes, all of Campbellsville, Kentucky.
  • Three grandchildren: Michael and wife Samantha Hayes; Brian and wife Macy Hayes; and Samantha Hayes all of Campbellsville, Kentucky.
  • Two great-granddaughters: Raegan and Kenady Hayes of Campbellsville, Kentucky.
  • One great-grandson: Jack Wyatt Hayes of Campbellsville, Kentucky.
  • A special former daughter-in-law: Debbie Myers and husband Timmy.
  • One brother: Thomas Glenwood Richerson and wife Linda.
  • Many other family, friends, and relatives.
Besides her parents and husband, Lois is preceded in death by one brother and one sister: Rev. Bobby Richerson and Martha Jane Richerson
