Bessie Lois (Finley) Smith, 85, Burkesville, KY (1936-2021) Mrs. Bessie Lois (Finley) Smith of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away Friday, May 28, 2021, at the Cumberland Valley Manor in Burkesville, Kentucky. She was 85 years old. The Funeral will be conducted at 2pmCT on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, in The Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main St, Burkesville, KY, with Bro. Nathan Boils officiating. Burial will follow in the Christian Chapel Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. The family will receive friends after 5pmCT on Monday, May 31, 2021, at Norris-New Funeral Home until the funeral hour on Tuesday. She was born in Burkesville, Kentucky on Friday, March 13, 1936, the daughter of Walter and Lula (Coop) Finley. She was of Methodist faith, a member of Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church, worked as a waitress for several years, and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Roy Finley, Cecil Finley, Noel Finley, and sisters, Mary Deel, Velda Hoots, and Grace Huddleston. She is survived by her husband, James Howard Smith of Burkesville, Kentucky, whom she wed, Saturday, August 17, 1957, and several nieces and nephews.
