Jerry Rogers, 87

Jerry M. Rogers, 87, Gradyville, KY, died Wednesday, February 23, 2005, at 9:20 p.m., at Summit Manor Nursing Home in Columbia, KY.

The funeral service will be Saturday, February 26, 2005, at 1:00 p.m., at Grissom Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Lowe officiating. Burial will follow in the Moss-Kemp Cemetery at Pickett's Chapel.


Mrs. Rogers was a daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson and Vester Marr Baker and was a member of the Columbia United Methodist Church.

Survivors include the following:
  • Her husband: Haskel Rogers, Gradyville, KY
  • One son and daughter-in-law: Jim and Linda Moss, Columbia, KY
  • One step-son and step-daughter-in-law: William A. and Wanda Rogers, Louisville, KY
  • A step-daughter-in-law: Elaine Rogers, Louisville, KY
  • One brother: Thomas Baker, Glendale, AZ
  • Three sisters: Betty Merrill, Joyce Rushing, and Jane Thompson, all of Springfield, IL
  • Three grandchildren: Melanie Brumley, John Coomer, and Amy Moss
  • Four step-grandchildren: Shanie, Danielle, Chris, and Madonna
  • And three great grandchildren and six step great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by the following:
  • Her first husband, Phillip Moss
  • One daughter, Janice Moss Coomer
  • Two step-sons: Dan and David Rogers
  • Four brother: Stanley, Leroy, Bob and Marion Baker
  • And one sister, Elva Myers
Memorials are suggested to eithr Columbia United Methodist Church or the Adair County WHAS Crusade for Children to honor Amy Moss. These may be left at the funeral home.

Visitation will be after 3:00 p.m., Friday, February 25, at Grissom Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY.

Grissom Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
