LWC Men's Golf in top-15 after day 1 of NAIA Championships By Kyle Jackson Silvis, IL - The Lindsey Wilson men's golf team completed the first day of NAIA Championship play Tuesday afternoon at the TPC Deere Run course, shooting a 306 on the par-71 course. With the first day in the books, the Blue Raiders find themselves in 14th with day two on the horizon. The Blue Raiders will tee off day two Wednesday at 12:10pmCT. Emil Gruhn led the Blue Raiders with an impressive four birdies on the day as the freshman sits tied in 16th, shooting a team-best score of 73 on the day and currently sitting only 2-over par. Janik Hawlitzky put away a couple of birdies on the 16th and 17th holes after playing a mostly even day to improve his score to a 76 and put himself 5-over par to sit tied for 50th overall. Callum Blinkhorn had a rough day on the course as the junior shot an underwhelming 78 to go 7-over par and sit tied for 81st overall. Callum Burns struggled to find his swing on the day as the junior accumulated a score of 79, sitting 8-over par and tied for 91st overall. Sebastian Sandin scored an 81 after the first day of play to go 10-over par and tied for 117th overall. Point University (GA) currently leads the tournament with a score of 290 and 6-over par while Corey Matthey of Morningside (IA), Logan Smith of William Woods (MO), Ruan Pretorius of Point University and Javier Neira Garcia of Keiser University (FL) sit in a four-way tie for first on the individual leaderboard with a score of 69 going 2-under par.
