Phillip Coffey - Moment of grieving

MOMENT OF GRIEVING By Phillip Coffey
Dedicated to Lucian Grant "Peanut" McKinley (April 14, 1928-March 20, 2012)

"Parched corn guts, you" was often said to my late Father
By his not too distant kin - peeking from under the front porch.
Not sure what it means but probably up there with dried fodder.
Confident no "Futures" proscribed on the Chicago Stock Market.

Sure were a lot of funny and so very sad stories shared
By those who survived "The "Depression" and World War II.
From "The Greatest Generation" - Heroes, Goats and 'in between'.
Knew some of each I think - still must have a 'moment of grieving'.
