ACSO: Sheriff's Office investigates injury collision

On Monday, April 12, 2021, at approximately 5:10pmCT, the Adair County Sheriff's Office responded four miles South of Columbia on Highway South 55 to a two-vehicle injury accident.

The accident occurred when 42 year old Joann Shaw of Columbia was traveling South in her 2002 Chevy trailblazer when it dropped off the right shoulder and over corrected, sliding across into the North-bound lane. Shaw's vehicle was struck by a North-bound 2013 Fiat car being operated by 58 year old Ruth Ware along with a passenger, 59 year old William Ware, of Columbia.

Adair County EMS responded and transported all parties involved to T.J. Health Columbia for suspected injuries.

Deputy Brandon Hitch is the investigating officer assisted on the scene by Adair County Fire Department.
