Flu season just beginning; it's not too late for shots The flu season is just getting started -- late this winter but this is not unusual. The local health department reports the good news that flu vaccine is now available to all persons regardless of age or health status. Everyone who has not received a flu shot so far is reccomended to do so at this time. Many a season has peaked in February and March, so it is not too late to get a flu shot. The CDC surveys show that only 35% of high risk individuals received the flu vaccine this season, down from the usual 50%. There are more people out there who can benefit from the vaccine and should receive it now. For more information or for an appointment, please call the Adair County Health Department at 384-2286.
