Leroy Shelton, 81, Green County, KY (1939-2021)

Leroy Shelton of Summersville, Kentucky, son of the late Roger Shelton and Lachia Skaggs Shelton, was born on Thursday, August 17, 1939 in Green County and departed this life on Friday, April 2, 2021 at his home. He was 81 years, 7 months, and 16 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Holly Grove Church. He was a retired line worker at G.E., a deacon, a member of the William B. Allen Masonic Lodge #704 F&AM and was an avid fisherman.



Survived by his wife of 58 years, Cindy Berry Shelton of Summersville, having united in marriage on February 2, 1963.

Other survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Hilda and Marvin Janes of Summersville; two sons and daughters-in-law: Robbie and Jenny Shelton of Summersville and Jeffrey and Lisa Shelton of Greensburg; six grandchildren: Dakota Janes of Summersville, Derek and Stephanie Janes of Summersville, Brittany and Josh McConnell of Louisville, Michael Hunter and Kendra Shelton of Magnolia, Lacey and Eric Hill of Magnolia, and Timber Thompson of Greensburg; 13 great-grandchildren: Haley, Everett, Noah, Hoyt, Silas, Beckham, Benson, Emma, Myla, Lincoln, Livia, River, and Violet; and a sister: Virginia Shelton of Summersville; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral services will be conducted at 10amCT Monday, April 5, 2021 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in Aetna Grove Cemetery. Bro. Dennis Penick officiating.

PALLBEARERS: Jeffrey Shelton, Robbie Shelton, Marvin Janes, Derek Janes, Dakota Janes, Michael Hunter Shelton, Josh McConnell, and Eric Hill.
