Drug search results in Columbia arrest

Officers from the Kentucky State Police, the Adair County Sheriff's Department and the Hidta Drug Task Force executed a search warrent on VanHoy Lane Monday and made one arrest.

The Gene M. Smith residence was searched and officers seized several pounds of processed marijuana, a small quantity of Cocaine, a vehicle and several firearms.

Fifty-year-old Gene M. Smith was arrested at the scene and charged with possession of Marijuana, possession of a Controlled Substance first degree, trafficking in marijuana over 8 ounces with firearms enhancement, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail. The investigation is continuing by Kentucky State Police Detective Russell Decker.
