Ollion D. Garner, 81, Russell County, KY (1939-2021) Ollion D. Garner of Jamestown, KY passed away on Friday, March 5, 2021 at his home. He was 81 years of age. Born October 23, 1939, in Creelsboro, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Frank and Arvilla Higginbotham Garner. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was employed by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet for many years as a toll booth manager and supervisor. He volunteered many hours at God's Food Pantry. Ollion enjoyed traveling in his camper, watching Westerns, and UK Basketball. Ollion was loved by everyone he knew. He is survived by his son, Jeffrey (and Jessica) Garner, of Jamestown; his step-daughter, Cindy Barnfield; his brother, Carlos Garner, of Indiana; two sisters, Dorothy Holt, of Jamestown and Jo Ann (and David) Zimmerman, of Florida; his granddaughter, Journey Garner; and two step-grandchildren, Casey Cappa and Rachel Barnfield. In addition to his parents, Ollion was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Lee Garner; three sisters, Opal McLarty, Carlene Brumley, and Ruby Garner; his former wife, Carolyn Yvonne Garner; and his companion, Charlotte Ross. Funeral services are 2pmCT Saturday, March 13, 2021, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Johnny Hood officiating. Burial will follow in Dixon Cemetery with military honors by the Russell County Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 11-2. Social distancing guidelines must be followed by everyone in attendance. Facial coverings are required.
