Olden Times Mystery Photo Contest #5

Olden Times Mystery Photo Contest #5 is a bit more complex than previous ones. The winner will be the first person to e:mail ed@epwbooks.com the correct answer to the following questions:


  1. What is the name of the man in the photo?

  2. What is the location of the photo, including the name of any one of the previous or present owners of the property with the trees in the background?

  3. What is the year, make, model, and engine confirmation of the beautiful old car in the photo?

  4. What were two occupations of the man in the photo, one of which must be the one for which this man is primarily remembered?
Also, we will appreciate any memories of the car's owner, a grand old man of 20th Century Adair County. And, if anyone knows if the car is still in existence, that information will be appreciated.

The contest is open to all, including family members of the man in the photo.

The deadline for this contest is January 15, 2005.

The first correct entry received will be awarded a copy of Drifting And Dreaming: The Story Of Songwriter Haven Gillespie, about the Kentucky song writer who wrote "Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town," from the sponsor of this contest, E.P. Waggener & Sons, BooksellersIf no answer meeting all the requirements is received by the deadline, the winner may be selected for any capricious, whimsical, philanthropic, or even rational reason the contest judges deem appropriate.
