Orville Glenn Whittle, 84, Russell County, KY native Orville Glenn Whittle, of Nancy, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021 at 84 years of age. Born on November 22, 1936, in Russell County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Jessie and Fannie Wilson Whittle. Orville was the former owner and operator of Pier Gas Station. He enjoyed fast cars, hunting and fishing. Orville was well-known for making the best "dough ball" fish bait. He will be remembered for having a heart for people and being a kind, caring person. Survivors include his wife, Beverly Jones Whittle, of Nancy, whom he wed on January 7, 1960; one son, Glenn (and fiance Stacy) Whittle, of Corydon, Indiana; two daughters, Donna (and Scott) Nichols, of Russell Springs and Sarah Jessie Bryant, of Greensburg; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, Orville was preceded in death by five brothers, Gary Whittle, Terrill Whittle, Jessie Whittle, Jr., Odell Whittle, and Raymond Whittle. Funeral services are 2pmCT Thursday, February 25, 2021, at Bernard Funeral Home. Burial will follow in McBeath Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12-2pm Thursday.
