ACSO: Ice determining factor in Liberty Rd. accident Adair County Sheriff's Office On Tuesday, February 2, 2021, Deputy Derek Padgett responded to the junction of Tom Roy Road and Liberty Road. Upon arrival, Deputy Padgett located a single vehicle in a field, a 2013 Jeep operated by Alec Beard, 28, of Columbia. Beard was East bound when he struck a patch of black ice and lost control of his vehicle. Beard's vehicle overturned and landed in field a short distance off the roadway. Adair County EMS transported Beard to T.J Health Columbia and later transferred Beard to University of Louisville Hospital because of his injuries. Roadway condition was the determining factor of the collision. The Adair County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by Adair County EMS. This story was posted on 2021-02-03 06:53:21
