Red Bird in the 1960s Click title for album with 3 photos. Red Bird Mission is a ministry in far southern Clay County, about six miles north of Beverly, Kentucky, on the banks of the Red Bird River. The mission operates a clinic and the Red Bird Christian School. Gary Hornbaker's father was a minister in the EUB Church in Red Bird Mission in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Gary has shared some of his father's photos from that time. Gary writes, "We got stuck in the snow many times in this bus.
