Ruth Elaine Pierce Young, 78, Greensburg, KY (1942-2021) Ruth Elaine Pierce Young of Greensburg passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at the T.J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow. She was 78 years old. The funeral services for Ruth Elaine Pierce Young will be conducted at 1pmCT on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main St., Greensburg, KY, with Bro. Thomas Metcalf, and Bro. Wilburn Bonta officiating. Burial will follow in the Warf Cemetery. A walk-through only visitation is requested from 5pmCT until 8pmCT on Tuesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, and after 7amCT on Wednesday until time of the funeral service. Due to State mandates and Covid-19, please continue to practice social distancing and wear facial covering. Ruth Elaine Pierce Young of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Garlan Pierce and Cleo Jeffries Pierce, was born on Thursday, May 14, 1942 in Green County, Kentucky. She had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a member of the Greasy Creek Baptist Church, and was a homemaker. She united in marriage to Leon Young who preceded her in death on December 21, 1997. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law: Robbie Young, and Donnie and Sandra Young of Greensburg; a granddaughter: Brandy Pruitt and her husband, Eric of Burkesville; two great-grandchildren: Dylan Pruitt and Lily Pruitt both of Burkesville; and a host of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers: Robbie Young, Donnie Young, Brian Penick, Ryan Pickett, Troy Young, Tracy Young. Honorary Pallbearers: Greasy Creek Baptist Church. The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
