Doris Bryant, 88, Columbia, KY (1932-2021)

Doris Harvey Bryant of Columbia passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021, at Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green. She was 88 years old.

The visitation and funeral will be held privately, with burial to follow in Haven Hill Cemetery.



She was born December 31, 1932, in Adair County, to the late Holland and Vina Reece Harvey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Bryant in 2016, a stillborn son, Gary Lewis Bryant, a grandson, Janssen Keith Bryant, four brothers, Reece, Hack, Dale and Donnie Harvey and two sisters, Eris Sharp and Betty Berry.

She was a faithful member of Columbia First Church of the Nazarene where she was always involved in her church, whether it was loving the babies in the nursery, serving on the Church Board or preparing food for the sick and shut-ins. She worked along with her husband in their business, Harvey & Bryant Building Supply for 30 years.

Survivors include:
  • Two sons & daughters-in-law - Larry Russell & Sheila Bryant, Terry & Debra Bryant all of Columbia
  • Two daughters & sons-in-law - Wanda & Byron Sanders of Campbellsville, Brenda & Tony Holt of Bowling Green
  • One sister - Jessie Scardigno of Succasunna, New Jersey
  • 12 grandchildren
  • 24 great-grandchildren and expecting two great-grandchildren this year
  • Several nieces, nephews, other relatives
  • A host of friends
The family request NO FLOWERS but would appreciate a donation to the Wheat Fellowship Hall of the First Church of the Nazarene, 1200 Jamestown St., Columbia, KY 42728, or can be left at the funeral home or mailed to 200 Campbellsville St., Columbia, KY 42728.

Casket Bearers: Eric Holt, Neil Holt, Chad Myers, Josh Myers, Easton Bryant, Brady Bryant, Clint Bryant, Wes Tyler Bryant, Dave Marshall, Kevin Spoon, Josh Kemp, Blake Hatcher.
