Sandra Akin, 74, Russell County, KY (1946-2021)

Sandra Akin, age 74, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Friday, January 15 2021.

She was a member of Calvary Temple Church and a Certified Nursing Assistant. She is survived by five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one step-great grandson.

She was born on Monday, January 21 1946, in Gibson City, IL, the daughter of Maude Canoy Bridgewater and Willie Ray, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include:

1 Daughter: Amy Kerr, of Russell Springs KY

1 Step-Daughter: Kimberly Mitchum, of Columbia, KY

2 Sons: Joe Smith, of Russell Springs and Chuck Smith, of Jeffersonville IN.

1 Step-son: Tim Akin, of Columbia, KY

Besides her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Hugh Akin, and by 4 brothers and 5 sisters.

Funeral services will be 2pmCT Monday, January 18, 2021 at Wilson Funeral Home, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY.

Visitation will be 12-2 Monday. Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, Columbia, KY.

Officiating: Bro. Scott Allen, and Bro. Troy McWhorter.

Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
