Columbia UMC opens to in-person services

By Rev. Robert E. Hoffman
Columbia United Methodist Church

Starting Sunday, Jan 3, 2021, Columbia United Methodist Church begins in-person worship at 10amCT with a blended worship service.

We would like to support and encourage our brothers and sisters who desire to continue participating through our online option.

We also want to give people the choice to participate in person if they want to.

For those who will be coming in person, we will continue taking all the precautions as before and ask that everyone please honor these guidelines:

  • 1. Please sit in an open pew or chair that closely fits your household size. There will be seating for 2's and 4's with a few pews marked for 5 or more for larger households. Taped off rows and seats with plates on them are unavailable.
  • 2. Please only sit with people in your household.
  • 3. Masks are required while inside the building (Governor's Ex. Oder).
  • 4. Please use hand sanitizer when entering and leaving.
  • 5. Please do not congregate in the aisles or anywhere inside the building.
We will continue to worship in-person with these guidelines for the foreseeable future. When our situation changes, we will re-evaluate at that time or close again when the Bishop directs us to. Otherwise, we are looking forward to worshipping together again.
