Wintry mix today, as temperatures fall

It's currently 48F at the Adair County Mesonet station. Temperatures will fall to around 27F by 5pmCT. There's an 80 percent chance of precipitation today, with rain showers, snow showers, freezing rain, and sleet before 3pm, changing over to possibly snow showers after 3pmCT. West wind 10 to 13 mph. New ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch is possible, and new snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch is possible.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy, with a chance of snow showers before 3amCT, then a chance of flurries after 4amCT. Temperatures will continue dropping, with an overnight low around 16F. Wind chill values could be as low as 7F. West wind around 11 mph.

Christmas Day will bring a chance of flurries, with mostly sunny skies and continued cold. The high will only reach 23F. Wind chill values on Christmas Day could be as low as 3F. West wind 9 to 13 mph.

Friday night will be mostly clear, with a low around 16F and southwest wind around 7 mph.
