Columbia approved for Kentucky ARC Flex E Grant

The City of Columbia has been notified of their approval for a Kentucky ARC Flex E Grant through the Center for Rural Development.

The grant will be utilized for a plan for the new city park located on Burkesville Street. These grants are approved for capacity building planning and implementation projects in their community.

"We are pleased to be awarded this grant," said Mayor Pamela Hoots. "This will be a starting point in planning for the new park, which will be a part of our Parks and Recreation Department."

Eligible applicants had to be located in one of the ARC(Appalachian Regional Commission) distressed counties.

The grant is to be finalized and completed by the end of the first quarter of 2021.
