James Evan ''Jim'' Williams, 78, World War II veteran

James Evan "Jim" Williams, 78, 538 Crocus Road, Glens Fork, KY, (the Crocus Community), formerly of Paso Robles, California, passed away suddenly Friday, November 19, 2004, at his home.

The memorial service will be held at a later date in California. The family has chosen cremations, and there will be no visitation or local service. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.


Mr. Williams was a retired district manager for Kroger's in the Los Angeles, CA, area. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Merchant Marines.

He was the son of Lyle Evan and Rose Oshee Williams of Oklahoma.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Campbell Williams, Glens Fork, KY, and the following:
  • Three daughters: Peggy Edwards and her husband, Jim, of Paso Robles, CA; Diana Baldwin and her husband, David, of Scottsdale, AZ; and Patricia McFadden, Phoenix, AZ
  • Four step children: Stephan Seals and wife, Peggy, Los Angeles, CA; Mark Seals and wife, Donna, Los Angeles, CA; Joel Seals and wife, Cheryl, Los Angeles, CA; and Chris Weimer and husband, Wayne, Wellton, AZ
  • One brother: Stan Williams, Cairo, Egypt
  • And 23 grandchildren and four great grandchildren
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the American Lung Association, Bluegrass Regional Office, 1636 Nicholasville Road, Suite One, Lexington, KY 40503.
