Velma Corbin Harris, 61

Velma Corbin Harris, 61, 575 Old Perkins Road, Columbia, KY (of the Knifley Community), passed away Friday, November 5, 2004, at 6:40 a.m., at her home, after a long illness.

The funeral service will be Sunday, November 7, 2004, at 2:00 p.m., at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Ralph Foster officiatiing.


She was a member of the Bloomington Chapel Brethren in Christ and a former nurses aid.

She was the daughter of the late James and Bessie Burton Corbin of Adair County, KY.

She is survived by the following:
  • Two daughters and sons-in-law: Thelma Glandorf and her husband Chuck, Knifley, KY; and Donna Foster and her husband Michael, Columbia, KY
  • Three brothers: Bill Corbin and Fred Corbin, both of Columbia, KY; and Jerry Corbin, Clementsville, KY
  • Two sisters: Eula Corbin, Somerset, KY; and Betty Gilbert, Columbia, KY
  • Five grandchildren: Kate Foster, Carlos Foster, Amandjewell Foster, Andrew Glandorf, and Bradley Glandorf.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Harris, and her brother, James Ed Corbin.

Interment will be in Bearwallow Cemetery.

The family requests visitation after 3:30 p.m., on Saturday, November 6, after 3:30 p.m., at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
