ColumbiaMagazine.com Site Improvements

We've streamlined the Submit a Story page to make it simpler and faster to share your news with ColumbiaMagazine, and we've added an RSS/XML stream for those of you using a news aggregator like NetNewsWire.

Share Your News:
The new Submit a Story page includes areas for your name and contact information, and can be completed with a single click, with no need to preview your submission.

We always welcome your submissions, and will try to run as many user-submitted news items as possible, especially those by or of interest to Adair Countians past and present.

New RSS Feed:
We've added an RSS feed to ColumbiaMagazine, for use with news aggregators such as NetNewsWire for Macintosh and SharpReader for Windows XP.

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication, and newsreaders poll RSS feeds at set intervals and then deliver news excerpts to your desktop, allowing you to scan headlines and then jump directly to stories in your browser with a single click. You can also add RSS feeds to MyYahoo and other internet portal sites now.

RSS feeds exist for numerous online news and commentary sites, such as Yahoo News, The Washington Post, Wired, NPR, Fark.com, Salon.com, thousands of blogs and many other sites. To find more feeds, visit Feedster or syndic8.

ColumbiaMagazine.com's news feed features news and photos from Columbia, KY, and surrounding Adair County communities such as Gradyville, Knifley, Sparksville, Breeding, Glens Fork, and others. Kentucky State Police Reports (provided by KSP Post 15) and Obituaries (provided by Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home and Grissom Funeral Home) are updated on a daily basis. News, features, and other stories are posted many times per week, and Local History/Genealogy and Lindsey Wilson College events are covered regularly.
