Dr. Dan Campaigns in Columbia

State Senator Daniel Mongiardo was in Columbia this morning to energize a large crowd of supporters who gathered at the Adair County courthouse this morning to help "Dr. Dan" in his drive to take the U.S. Senate seat now held by Senator Jim Bunning.

The Columbia crowd was moved by the appearance of former Senator Wendell Ford. "When he walked in," Nancy Loy said, "we just lost it."

Mongiardo's fast climb in the polls in October has created drawn national attention, with stories in the New York Times and Philadelphia Enquirer.

Mongiardo has been endorsed by Kentucky's largest newspapers, The Louisville Courier Journal and the The Lexington Herald, and by the following: The Ashland Independent, The Daily Times of Glagow, The News Enterprise of Elizabethtown, and the Cadiz record.
