Janice Coomer, 63, retired Gradyville merchant

Janice Coomer, 63, 426 Old Gradyville Road, Gradyville, KY, died Friday, October 29, 2004, at the Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN.

The funeral service will be Monday, November 1, 2004, at 1:00 p.m., at Grissom Funeral Home, with Bro. Ronnie Dooley, Bro. Bobby Withers, and Bro. Jamie Richard officiating.


She was a retired merchant, owning and operating the J & J Grocery in Gradyville for several years.

She was a member of Jones Chapel United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Coomer was the daughter of the late Phillip Moss and the widow of J.T. Coomer.

Survivors include the following:
  • Her mother and father-in-law: Jerry Moss and Haskel Rogers, Gradyville, KY
  • One daughter and son-in-law: Melanie and Mike Brumley, Frankfort, KY
  • One son: John Coomer, Gradyville, KY
  • One brother and sister-in-law: Jim and Linda Moss, Columbia, KY
  • Three grandsons: Kyle Brumley, Tyler and Dustin Coomer, and their mother, Margaret Coomer
  • One niece: Amy Moss
  • Her mother-in-law: Lillian Coomer, Columbia, KY
Visitation will be after 1:00 p.m., Sunday, October 31, 2004, at Grissom Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville St., Columbia, KY.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation Jones Chapel United Methodist Church and may be left at the funeral home.

Grissom Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
