Letter: Are we still in the red?

Marcus E Pierce writes:
This was the lastest red map. We all went out of the red.
Marcus, thanks for writing. Unfortunately, the state maps are incorrect for some of the local counties for the last few days, and most of the local counties are still red after all. The LCDHD mentioned on Thursday that they expected this, but we failed to get it to the front-page part of the story that we posted:
It should be noted that, due to the recent surge in cases, and due to a medical absence of one of our key staff, we are behind entering a significant number of cases into the state system. While our local numbers are current (as reported in our news briefs, and on our webpages), the numbers reported by the Governor's Office and posted on the state's COVID-19 webpage will be significantly off. We have reported this through the State Department for Public Health to the Governor's Office. In any event, please utilize our local data for the time being.
-- LCDHD COVID-19 Public Information Brief 11/5/2020
Yesterday's brief from LCDHD, posted this morning, indicates that they're catching up on the data backlog, and everyone should definitely be taking red-zone precautions in the coming week, because "Eight of our district's ten counties are now in the 'red-critical' range: Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Pulaski, Taylor, and Wayne. This leaves only McCreary, and Russell in the "orange-accelerated" range."

COVID-19 update by the numbers

2020-11-08 - South Central Kentucky - Photo from the LCDHD.
The latest chart provided by the Lake Cumberland District Health Department shows numbers in the ten county district. Looking at Adair and surrounding, Metcalfe County is not reflected in this chart as it is in the Barren River District Health Department. Looking at their recent numbers, Metcalfe remains low in numbers of cases.
