Presidential poll tied; newspaper endorsements lop-sided

(Update: Thursday, October 28, 2004, 5:51 a.m.)As of this time, 187 readers have made their choices in the Columbiamagazine.com Presidential Poll. The vote is 91 votes each for John F. Kerry and for the present occupier of the Presidency, George W. Bush. Five readers have cast votes for Ralph Nader.

Though not entirely unexpected, John F. Kerry has gotten the endorsements of Kentucky's two largest daily newspapers, The Courier-Journal and the Lexington Herald.

The "bible" of the publishing industry, Editor & Publisher, is keeping a running total of endorsements nationwide, including the number of newspapers, the total circulation, and the number of papers which have switched from one party to the other.
