Mayor's Report, City of Columbia - October, 2020

Approximately forty loads of brush were picked-up during the month.

Blacktopping completed for fall. All or portions of: Montgomery Street, Gaston Avenue, Appleby Drive, Water Works Street, Loy Street, Curry Street, and Paull Street. Repairs on: Walker Street and Willis Street.

Working on the repair of flower beds bricking on the square. Jackie Chapman is doing a great job with this.

Some lines were taken out of service by the Gas Department that had been abandoned (Highway 206).



The gas department completed the project on North 61.

Gas hooked up at Dairy Queen.

Several locates completed through town.

The leak survey was completed. All okay.

The Green Hills project is running on schedule.

The Gas Department is working with CAUD on a new water line scheduled to be laid on Tutt Street (locates on the line).

The Parks and Recreation Department installed the Blessing Box at the Fairgrounds. Donated by Amanda and Stacia - our thanks to them.

The Parks and Recreation Department worked on a water leak and did some repairs at the Little League Park (restroom issue).

Gravel placed in potholes at the city park on Fairgrounds Street.

Sprayed for birds at the city park pavilion.

New locks installed on all trailers for street department and parks and recreation department.

Continued to do sanitation of all playground equipment at all city park equipment.

New sign for bicyclists, walkers, at the roadside park.

Deed received for the roadside park transition.

Swings repaired at the city park.

Parks and Recreation repaired the overhang at the back of building.

Parks and Recreation swept the leaves at the Trabue Russell House.

Street Department has been sweeping streets and removing leaves.

The Parks and Recreation has been cleaning and doing pickup at the city park on Fairgrounds Street.

ABC funds (August) $297,001.43 Receipts $13,112.46 Regulatory Fees

ABC funds (September) $284,847.17 Receipts $12,623.87 Regulatory Fees

Applied for the Flex Funding ARC grant.

Mayor continuing with other funding applications/grants.

Chase and BreAnna Coffey and Adair County Animal Hospital were the winners of the Fall Decorating Contest. Prizes sponsored by Mayor.
