Quilts for Metcalfe County Veterans

Gaye Shaw, Executive Director
Edmonton Metcalfe Chamber of Commerce

The Piecemaker’s Quilt Guild in partnership with the Metcalfe County, American Legion and VFW Posts would like to honor the many men and women of Metcalfe County who have served our country.

As a symbol and token of thanks, solace, and remembrance for those who have served in harms way, we would like to present handmade quilts to several service members. Last year we presented quilts to seven veterans and plan to do a similar number this year.

All our veterans deserve to be honored for their service but we especially want to honor our oldest service members. These quilts were made by volunteers who wish to thank those who have served and to recognize their service and sacrifice.

We need your help to find these brave individuals who will be recognized at the Veteran’s Day Ceremony on Wednesday, November 11 at 11:30amCT in the historic courthouse yard.

Nomination forms are located at the Chamber office, the Herald News office and the Public Library. Please return nominations by 31 October 2020. For more information contact Bill Lytle at (270) 576-8490.
