Joyce Marie Reeder, 74, Russell Springs, KY (1946-2020)

Joyce Marie Reeder of Russell Springs passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at the Fair Oaks Nursing home in Jamestown. She was 74 years old.

The funeral service for Joyce Marie Reeder will be held at 1pmCT on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N. Main St., Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Carroll Egnew officiating.

Visitation is requested from 10amCT on Tuesday until the funeral time at 1pmCT.


Joyce Marie Reeder, born March 18, 1946, in Campbellsville, Kentucky, passed away on October 10, 2020. She was 74 years old. She resided most of her life in Russell Springs, KY. However, she had resided the past two years, at Fair Oaks Nursing Home, in Jamestown, KY. She graduated, in the Class of 1964, from Russell County High School.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Henry Reeder and Marjorie Hutcherson Reeder. She is survived by one son, Nathaniel Clark Wheeler (Kathleen). She is also survived by special friends Glenn and Glenda Shepherd, and a host of special cousins who were near and dear to her heart.

Joyce's maternal family mainly came from Columbia and Campbellsville, while her paternal family came from Rock House bottom in Creelsboro, KY. Joyce was a talented lady, who loved doing crafts of any kind. she enjoyed sewing, cooking and an extensive doll collection. Her cheese balls were legendary, she'd always make them on holidays and special occasions. Being a Mother was her greatest joy.

Joyce was the Reeder Family historian. She spent many, many years searching and researching her family ancestry. she made posters and timelines to present at family reunions. She gathered pictures and facts from everywhere she could find them. Family was so important to her.

Joyce was a member of the Russell Springs Christian Church for over 50 blessed years.

Joyce was employed at Russell Sportswear and Fruit of the Loom, before going back to college to earn her degree in Business, from Lindsey Wilson College.

Pallbearers: Terry Hutcherson, Vernon Nissley, Todd Woodrum, Owen Woodrum, David Rexroat, and Jeffrey Reeder.

Honorary Pallbearers: Glenn Shepherd, Edward Sea and Lawrence Sea.
