ACJE: Annex cleaned, disinfected after COVID-19 exposure

Adair is now in the "red zone" due to an outbreak of 14 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday and 7 new cases today.

By Gale B. Cowan

Adair County Judge Executive

I found out late this afternoon that the Adair County Annex Building has had a positive COVID-19 case within the building today. Most employees are NOT considered to be "close contact," but we did want to pass this along to our citizens.

We, as office holders and staff, have cleaned and disinfected (on top of what we do daily) this evening to try to make the building safe. If you are not comfortable coming into the building, please call the office you need to do business with, and they will happily make arrangements to assist you. We do have a company coming in over the weekend to do an even "deeper cleaning" than we are able to do ourselves, before voting begins next week.

If you need to pay your property taxes, please consider mailing them to Adair County Sheriff's Office, 424 Public Square, Suite 20, Columbia, KY 42728.

If you need to request an absentee ballot from the Clerk's Office, that can be done over the phone by calling 270-384-2801.

The safety of our staff and citizens is of the utmost importance. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or my staff at 270-384-4703.
