Hospitality program for regional businesses

By Cindy J. Lackey

Somerset, KY -- The Kentucky Wildlands and ExecuTrain this week have announced "Elevate Your Service," a certificate program that will offer two types of classes to help businesses in southern and eastern Kentucky improve their customer service. The new program will be launched in 2021 for any business that serves the public, such as restaurants, hotels and retail stores.

For front-line employees, the three-hour class will cover why and how to deliver excellent customer service. For managers, the six-hour class will delve deeper into infusing hospitality throughout the business.

The Kentucky Wildlands is a regional tourism marketing initiative in 41 counties of southern and eastern Kentucky, including Adair, Casey, Cumberland, Green, Metcalfe, and Russell. It showcases the region's majestic beauty and rich heritage with the goal of driving economic development. The initiative was launched by Eastern Kentucky PRIDE, which is a nonprofit organization, with grant funding from the Appalachian Regional Commission and Economic Development Administration.
