Juanita Dowell Blankenship, 86, Columbia, KY (1933-2020) Juanita Dowell Blankenship of Columbia passed away on Friday, October 2, 2020 in Campbellsville, KY. She was 86 years old. Funeral services will be held at 1pmCT on Thursday, October 8, 2020, at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with burial to follow in the Haven Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10amCT on Thursday at the funeral home. For the health and respect of the family, please follow all rules for social distancing and The Healthy at Work Guidelines. Everyone attending will be required to wear a mask or face covering. Born October 3, 1933, in Adair County she was the daughter of the late Dolphus and Helen Rogers Dowell and wife of the late Elmer Chapman "Jack" Blankenship. Mrs. Blankenship was of the Baptist faith and a retired school teacher, starting her career in rural Adair County at a one room school and finishing at Colonel William Casey Elementary School. She enjoyed Kentucky basketball, bingo, fishing and genealogy. She is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins including Dorene Miller of Campbellsville, KY. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Smith, Grant Bays, Bill Hartman, George Moss, David Rogers, and Troy Bishop. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
