Dillard L. Janes, 62

Dillard L. Janes, 62, 3644 Sparksville-Fairplay Road, Columbia, KY (the Sparksville Community), passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2004, at 6:05 p.m., at the Taylor County Hospital in Campbellsville, KY, after a short illness.

The funeral service will be Friday, October 1, 2004, at 2:00 p.m., at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY. Bro. Ronnie Janes will officiate.


Mr. Janes was a member of the Union Chapel Church and a farmer.

He was the son of the late Ancil and Gladys Marie Franklin Janes of Adair County, KY.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Murphy Janes, Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • One son: Timothy (Denise) Janes, Greenwood, IN
  • One daughter: Patricia (Danny) Stotts, Columbia, KY
  • Two sisters: Ruby Furkin and Margie Keith, both of Columbia, KY
  • Three grandchildren: Jacob, Chris, and Bradley Stotts
  • One great grandchild: Kendra Stotts
He was preceded in death by one brother, Cody Janes in 1990.

Interment will be in Sparksville Baptist Church Cemetery at Sparksville, KY.

The family requests visitation after 4:00 p.m., Thursday, September 1, 2004, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, Columbia, KY.
