Stella T. Curry, 95, Greensburg, KY (1925-2020)

Stella T. Curry of Greensburg passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at the Green Hill Rehab and Care Center. She was 95 years old.

The funeral services for Mrs. Stella T. Curry will conducted at 11amCT Monday, August 31, 2020 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Knight and Bro. Freddy Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Greasy Creek Cemetery.

A walk thru visitation is requested Sunday, from 4pmCT until 8pmCT, and after 7amCT on Monday until the time of the service.


Stella T. Curry of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Emmitt Underwood Stilts and Mandy Ellen Lobb Stilts, was born on Saturday, July 4, 1925.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a member of Greasy Creek Baptist Church, and was a homemaker.

She was first married to Orvis P. Thompson and then later united in marriage to Lawrence Jenkins Curry in February 1963, who preceded her in death in January 1971.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Stella and Steve Durrett of Summersville; a son and daughter-in-law: Ed Wayne and Charlotte Thompson of Buffalo; 11 Grandchildren: Cecile Bloyd and her husband Kyle, Josh Wright and his fiance Deidra, Allen Thompson, Karen Curry, Carol Thompson, Mike Thompson and his wife April, Andrew Thompson, Todd Thompson, Tammy Coates, Stacy Morgan and her husband Tony, and Brandy Thompson; 12 great-grandchildren and a host of great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Curry was also preceded in death by two children: Orville M. Thompson on May 21, 2001 and James Thompson on December 17, 2019; six sisters and two brothers: Lenov Judd, Virginia Judd, Letha Akin, Myrtle Dangerfield, Eva Cory, Mary Judd, Robert Earl Stilts, John Wm. Stilts.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Activity Fund of Green Hill Rehab and Care Center, which can be made at the funeral home.
