Merle P. Reed, 76, Veteran, business owner Grissom Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Merle Reed who passed away at his home on Fortune Street in Columbia on Wednesday, August 18, 2004. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, August 20. He was a Veteran of World War II and was owner of the Dairy Queen on Jamestown Street for many years before retirement. Merle was preceded in death by his wife Bobbie Wethington Reed in 1996. He was the son of the late Edgar and Madge Reed and a member of the Columbia Union Presbyterian Church. He is survived by:
