Donald (Shorty) Barrett, 69, Russell Springs, KY (1951-2020)

Donald "Shorty" Barrett of Russell Springs passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at the VA Hospital in Lexington. He was 69 years old.

The funeral service for Donald "Shorty" Barrett will be held at 1pmCT on Sunday, August 2, 2020, in the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N. Main St., Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. David Coffey & Bro. Johnny Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the New Hope Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11amCT until 1pmCT at the funeral home.

He was born on July 2, 1951 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Ola N. and Nannie Pearl Hagy Barrett. Donald was a truck driver.

Survivors include:
  • A sister - Nancy Bernard, Russell Springs
  • A brother - Ernest Dean Barrett, Shepherdsville, Ky
  • A niece - Nicole Barrett Garner, Russell Springs
  • Two nephews - Joshua Kyle Barrett & Jamie Dean Barrett, of Shepherdsville, Ky
  • A special friend - Margie Calhoun, Russell Springs
He was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Barrett, and a brother-in-law, Jerry Bernard.
