Obituary: Roe Burdette, 80, Adair County,KY

Mr. Burdette was a member of a distinguished Adair County family. He was a veteran of World War II

Roe Burdette, 80, 303 East Guardian Street, Columbia, KY, passed away Friday, July 23, 2004, at his home.

The funeral service will be Monday, July 26, 2004, at 11:00 a.m., at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia, KY, with the Rev. Phil Ellis officiating.


Mr. Burdette was the son of the late Samuel Monroe Burdette, Sr., and Ruth Paull Burdette.

He is survived by the following:
  • One brother: Billy Burdette, Jamestown, KY
  • One sister: Martha Rou, Columbia, KY
  • One nephew: John Burdette, Jamestown, KY
He was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Burdette.

Roe Burdette was a member of the Columbia Christian Church, a retired bank employee, and a Veteran of World War II.

Interment will be in Columbia Cemetery, 315 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY.

Visitation will be after 9:00 a.m., Monday, July 26, 2004, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, Columbia, KY.

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
