Earnestine Barnes, 72, 604 Rice Drive, Columbia, KY, died Monday, May 24, 2004, at 6:20 a.m., at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at 11:00 a.m., at Grissom Funeral Home, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Doug Lyons and Rev. Ronnie Dooley officiating. Burial will following in the Barnes Cemetery, Breeding, KY.


Visitation will be after 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 25, at Grissom Funeral Home.

She was a daughter of the late Arvil and Velma England Barnes and a amember of Red Lick Baptist Church. She was also preceeded in death by a sister, Dortheen Barnes.

She is survived by the following:
  • A sister: Nova Corbin, Columbia, KY
  • One nephew: Tony Corbin, Columbia, KY
  • Two nieces: Patty Lyons and her husband, Doug, Bowling Green, KY; and Sandy Wilson and her husband, Rick, Columbia, KY
  • One great nephew: Colin Corbin
  • Five great nieces: Courtney and Ashley Lyons, Brittany & Tonya Corbin; and Kacy Wilson.
Memorials are suggested tot he Barnes Cemetery Fund and may be left at the funeral home.

Grissom Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
