Alvina Roach, 80

Alvina Roach, 80, 110 Hudson St., Columbia, KY, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at 10:18 a.m., at Westlake Regional Hospital, after an illness.

The funeral service will be Friday, May 7, 2004, at 11:00 a.m., CDT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, with Bro Ralph Hadley officiating.

Mrs. Roach was the daughter of the late Jim Riley and Mattie Pearl Roach.

She was the widow of Chester Ray Roach, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by the following:
  • One daughter: Patricia A. Hadley and her husband, Billy, Columbia, KY
  • Two sons: James E. Roach and his wife, Carol, Louisville, KY; and Clevelan C. Roach and his wife, Sue, Glasgow, KY
  • One brother: James Howard Sexton, Columbia, KY
  • Three sisters: Myrtle Brummet, Josie Roach, and Cleo Wilson, all of Louisville, KY
  • Four grandchildren: Darrell Roach, Angela Mutter, James Ray Roach and Rebecca Adams
  • And seven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Interment will be in Moore Cemetery at Gradyville.

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be after 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2004, at the funeral home.
