Sidney Foster, 56

Sidney Foster, 56, 6769 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2004, at 11:10 a.m., at his home, after an illness.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, April 27, 2004,at 2:00 p.m., at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, Columbia, KY, with his brother, Rev. Ralph Foster, and Rev. Lewis Burton officiating.


Mr. Foster was the son of Willie and Aline Streeval Foster of Liberty Road, Columbia, KY.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Janet Ford Foster, Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • One daughter and son-in-law: Tina and Wendell Pyles, Columbia, KY
  • Two sons and one daughter-in-law: Steven and Michelle Foster; and Mark Foster hand his friend, Shaunah Curry, Columbia, KY
  • Four brothers: Rev. Ralph Foster, Danny Foster, Michael Foster, and Johnny Foster, all of Columbia, KY
  • Four sisters: Corrine Simpson, Edinburgh, IN; Linda Roberts and Jeanetta Holmes, both of Columbia, KY; and Beverly Bryant of Brownstown, IN
  • His mother-in-law: Estelle Ford, Columbia, KY
  • And a host of brother-in-laws, sisters-in-law,aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
One sister, Rosemary Foster, preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was his father-in-law Mitchell Ford.

Sidney Foster was a member of the Bloomington Brethren in Christ Church. He was the lead singer for the Bloomington Bluegrass Boys, and a former singer of the Bloomington Faith Singers.

He was a self-employed farmer, a school bus driver for the Adair County Board of Education, and worked for many years for Warner Fertilizer Company.

Interment will be in Bearwallow Cemetery.

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Visitation is after 5:00 p.m., Monday, April 26, 2004.
