May Day Festival coming up at Lindsey Wilson

A special day is coming up where every member of the family can be included and look forward to a good time. Mark your calendars for a special event happening on the Lindsey Wilson campus Saturday, May first. As part of the yearlong Centennial Celebration,Lindsey will host a community-wide May Day Festival. (Click "read more" to show the day's schedule.)

The schedule is: (all times CDT)

9:00 a.m. BUS TOUR (first come, first served). Any interested person is invited to come on this free-to-the public tour to Tebbs Bend including the historical sights along theway. Betty Jane Gorin Smith will serve as tour guide. Betty Jane is fromCampbellsville and is a noted historian.

CHILDREN'S GAMES will be held from 10 a.m.-noon;

JESSE STUART: Jimmy Lowe of Glasgow, Ky., will portray Kentucky writer and poet Jesse Stuart at 11 a.m.;

DANCING: Squire Squash Beetle Morris Dancers of Lexington, Ky., will entertain the crowd, workwith children and lead the May Pole Dance;

Stephen Foster Singers of Bardstown, Ky., will walk around campus from noon-1:30 p.m.and will perform at 1 p.m. in the Quadrangle;

Art education students will help children paint a 50-foot mural;

Eva McCubbin, line dance instructor, and the Lindsey Wilson Dance Team will lead allages in line dancing, rhythmic, movement and fun dances;

Hot dogs, hot pretzels, snow cones, popcorn and drinks will be served.
