Stella J. Grider, 38

Stella J. Grider, 38, 1534 Sparksville-Fairplay Road, Columbia, KY, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2004, at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY.

The funeral service is Saturday, April 10, 2004, at 1:00 p.m., at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia, with Bro. Ralph Hadley officiating. Interment will be in Harvey Cemetery.


Mrs. Grider was the daughter of the late David Eugene and Cora L. McQueary Burris and was an adopted daughter of the late Owen and Frances Edrington.

She is survived by her husband, Tony Grider, Columbia, KY, and by the following:
  • A special loved one: Jamie Skaggs
  • Two stepsons: Jason Grider and Adam Grider, both of Columbia, KY
  • Three brothers: Kenneth Barrett, Lexington, KY; Dwayne Shepherd, Lagrange, KY; and James Burris, Columbia, KY
  • Adopted brothers: Danny and Joe Manning and Johnny Ray McQueary
  • Sisters: Gail Murphy, Kay Barrett, Sandy Barrett, Faye King, Jo Jo Manning, Kathy Lilly, Vera Edwards, Michelle Bearden, Heather Skaggs, and Edith Brown
  • One Godchild: David Grider
  • Three step grandchildren
  • Mother-in-law: Juanita Grider, Columbia, KY
  • And several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives
Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be at the funeral home after 4:00 p.m., Friday, April 9, 2004.
