Farmers Market on the Square growing each Saturday

By Donna Jones

Our Saturday, May 16, 2020 Farmers Market on the Square will have cabbage, broccoli, green onions, eggs, fresh baked bread, local honey, bedding plants and hanging baskets.

I'm sure you can find lots of good items on Saturday from 8am-1pmCT at the corner of Merchant Street and Campbellsville Street in Columbia. We hope you will stop by and shop local. We appreciate all your hard work and the changes that you, the market and vendors have made to remain open. You have done a great job and we know that you will continue to follow guidelines to keep your market safe for your customers and vendors.

Consistent with the Governor's announcement that retail stores may open on May 20, beginning on that date farmers' markets may allow sales of crafts and other non-food products. However, we will stress that all guidelines and requirements by the Governor's Office and CDC guidelines are to be followed.

Please remember to follow the social distancing practice and ask customers to shop with their eyes and no touching.

At this time, sampling, cooking demonstrations and cooking food to sell at the market are still NOT allowed.

If you have any questions or need further clarification, please feel free to contact our office.

Thanks again for supporting our markets and Kentucky Agriculture!!
