Principal's Thoughts, spring 2020 - Debbie Bradshaw

By Debbie Bradshaw, Principal
Adair County Primary Center

Who would have ever guessed that March 12th would be the last day of our 2019-2020 school year to see our ACPC students face to face?

The abrupt change COVID brought meant the important things we took for granted halted: sharing silly classroom moments, giving hugs, eating lunch together, celebrating together, but most importantly, saying our goodbyes in person.

Out of diversity came opportunity. Although the school building closed shut, learning remained wide open. Our teachers and our staff worked arm in arm with our families and our community to keep our students fed, engaged, and learning.

My heart smiled when parents would send in pictures of children cooking, gardening, farming, crafting, learning those important skills special to each family and I'd like to keep that sense of togetherness we had with our students' families during this time.

What I miss most even now though is being with the students each day and I'm eager to get everyone back in our building so we can share our stories, smiles and hugs again. - Mrs. Bradshaw, ACPC ...where little kids do BIG things!

(All our teachers and staff are invited to share thoughts about the 2020 spring semester - the time the Coronavirus changed school.)
